Meckern Ziege is currently in a closed beta test with selected testers. A commercial release will only take place after the beta phase is completed and a suitable legal entity has been established.

2. Overview

Meckern Ziege is a mobile app (iOS/Android) that helps consumers create AI-powered complaint campaigns on social media. This privacy policy explains what personal data we collect, how we process it, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

3. Data We Collect

• Account data: Email address (via Supabase Auth registration)
• Case data: Complaint text you enter, generated tweets, campaign metadata (status, platform, timestamps)
• Preferences: Language preference (German/English), federal state (Bundesland)
• Device data (analytics): Device ID, app version, operating system, screen size — collected via PostHog and Sentry
• Error reports: Crash logs, error messages, breadcrumbs — collected via Sentry
• Usage data: App events (e.g., onboarding started, campaign created) — collected via PostHog

4. Legal Basis

• Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — Contract performance: Processing account data, case data, and campaign metadata to provide the service.
• Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — Legitimate interest: Collecting analytics and error data to improve app stability and user experience. Our legitimate interest is ensuring a functioning service.

5. Data Storage and Processors

Your data is processed by the following service providers:

• Supabase Inc. — Authentication and database. Server location: EU (Frankfurt, aws eu-west-1). Privacy Policy
• PostHog Inc. — Product analytics. Server location: EU. Privacy Policy
• Sentry (Functional Software Inc.) — Error monitoring. Server location: EU (Germany). Privacy Policy
• Anthropic PBC — AI text generation (Claude API). Data processing in the United States. Your complaint texts are transmitted to Anthropic for analysis and tweet generation. Privacy Policy

For data transfers to Anthropic in the US, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR) or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, where applicable.

6. Cookies and Tracking

Meckern Ziege is a native mobile app. We do not use cookies. Analytics events are collected via the PostHog SDK, errors via the Sentry SDK. No browser-based tracking takes place.

7. Logging

Server-side logs are collected via Supabase default functionality. App-side logs are collected via PostHog (usage analytics) and Sentry (error reports). No additional server logs are stored beyond these.

8. Data Retention

• Account data: Retained until you request account deletion.
• Case data and campaigns: Retained until you request account deletion.
• Analytics and error data: 90 days, then automatically deleted.

9. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

• Access (Art. 15 GDPR) — Request information about what data we hold about you.
• Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) — Correct inaccurate data.
• Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) — Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
• Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) — Export your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection (Art. 21 GDPR) — Object to processing based on legitimate interests.

10. Minimum Age

Use of Meckern Ziege requires a minimum age of 16 years (Art. 8 GDPR). We do not knowingly collect data from persons under 16.

11. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this privacy policy to reflect changes in legal requirements or service modifications. The current version is always available at this URL.
